Authoritative Recognition of Lab-Grown Diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds possess the exact same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural diamonds. Therefore, their luster, hardness, and compositional structure are identical to natural diamonds. Unlike simulants made from glass or other materials, they will not wear down or lose their luster from years of wear. Below is the recognition of lab-grown diamonds by international authoritative organizations.
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) removed "natural" from its definition of diamonds in July 2018. This means that lab-grown diamonds are also real diamonds if they meet the characteristics of a diamond.
Matthew Hall, Director of Research at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), also stated: lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds.
